Knodor is a community management platform for residential societies and gated estates, live at knodor.com — the modern way to run your residential society, knock on door. It replaces the scattered WhatsApp groups, paper visitor registers and spreadsheet billing that most societies still rely on with a single premium dashboard where residents, guards, managers and admins all work from the same source of truth. Harsh Kadyan built the backend, the web frontend, and the native iOS and Android apps — one connected system across Web, iOS and Android rather than a web app that pretends to be mobile.

The platform is organised into feature modules that societies switch on as they need them. Visitor & gate security covers QR visitor passes, pre-approvals, delivery logging, vehicle entry and guard photo capture at the gate. Billing & payments handles maintenance bills, invoices, card and mobile-money payments and offline cheque tracking. Notices & community powers a notice board, forum, polls, events, lost & found, documents and house rules. Marketplace & services adds resident buy & sell, amenity booking, service requests and rated daily helpers. Safety & emergency gives residents a one-tap safety ping to on-duty guards with instant alerts, and the society directory ties everything together with a unit directory, messaging and family access. Societies enable only the modules they need — nothing is forced.

Under the hood, Knodor is built around four user roles — Resident, Guard, Manager and Admin — each with role-specific tools on both web and mobile, so a guard at the gate, a resident in their flat and a manager in the office each see the workflow built for them. Multi-society support lets an administrator run several estates from one account with admin analytics, subscriptions and global settings, while a single backend serves all three platforms (Web, iOS, Android). Getting a society live is intentionally simple — the onboarding runs in three steps: onboard the society, enable the features you want, then residents and guards connect — so a community can move off WhatsApp groups and paper registers in an afternoon.

My role

I built Knodor end to end — the backend, the web frontend, and the native iOS and Android apps — as one connected system running off a single backend. That covers the API and data model, the Next.js dashboard, the SwiftUI and Kotlin mobile clients, and the integrations around payments, QR passes and push notifications. About the developer

Knodor is built by Harsh Kadyan — known online as BrutalHarsh — a 22-year-old full stack developer and AI engineer based in Rohtak, Haryana, India. He ships across the whole stack, from Node.js and PostgreSQL backends to React web frontends and native iOS and Android apps, and has delivered 100+ projects alongside products of his own.
